I was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia and have lived in Chesapeake, Virginia since 1990. I have worked for several law firms over the years, both large and small, which have provided many opportunities to learn and grow professionally in the legal field. I was also part-owner of a title insurance agency prior to re-entering the workforce as a Paralegal for Davis Law Group.
Of course my parents were an amazing influence in my life, but in addition to their unconditional love and guidance, I would have to say my dance instructor for 20 years, Eva May Morris, and my piano teacher for 20 years, Anne Sands. Both were wonderful Christian women who not only taught me to love the art of dance and an appreciation for music, but they both spent time each week talking with their students about life or sharing a story or giving advice. They were both kind and gentle, yet strong and determined, which is why they had a huge impact on me during my formative years and created such fond memories that I have cherished my whole life.
Favorite thing about my job:
My favorite thing about my job are the positive people I get to work with every day. There is a sense of family and team spirit among the entire group. Our collective goals are similar in that we all want to truly help the clients we service, which in turn creates an environment that lends to doing just that.
In my spare time:
Spare time as a mother of three active children is an oxymoron. But I do make time for Zumba and kickboxing at the YMCA. I also enjoy spending time at the beach (after the tourists have left!), doing yardwork, Bunco, camping, trying new restaurants and taking advantage of all the festivals and events Hampton Roads has to offer. But mostly I enjoy spending time with family and friends for a movie or game night.
